The Gutenstein Alps with their iconic John's Creek Canyon are located only 1.5 hours South of Vienna. You definitely should have been there at least once. It's like visiting a mini-version of Switzerland, complete with grazing cows and snow-covered ridges afar.
Conveniently starting and ending at Vienna Main Station/Wien Hauptbahnhof, this tour comes packed with with spectacular impressions of canyon rocks, mountain meadows and idyllic forests. If quiet enough, we might even spot some free-roaming wildlife in the woods. Net hiking time through all these eye candies will be 3 hours.
Underway we'll have fun with ice breakers, discussion prompts and local trivia.
Your host is an outward-thinking individual who lived in three cultures on two continents. Fluent in 7½ languages, he visited 40+ countries from Nicaragua to North Korea and loves sharing off-beat travel stories. Ask him anything!

A hosted hiking trip into nature with plenty of socializing and fun. While exploring some of the best trails in the region, we enjoy learning about Austria and each other's countries.
All our events are recreational, so average fitness is fine. They are not advisable for people with heart or lung issues though. We also thank everyone in advance for not smoking during our events.
Usually we're a mix of professional Vienna expats and Austrians with international background. Sometimes there's also travellers or digital nomads. Average age ranges between 25 and 55. Unfortunately, dogs or other pets are not permitted at our events. If we're lucky, we might spot some wildlife underway though.

Please arrive 5 minutes ahead at the meeting point described in the confirmation e-mail. Events are based on fixed timetables and unfortunately cannot consider latecomers.
For ideal group dynamics, the number of participants is limited. Please book as early as possible, because full = full. If you are offered second-hand tickets elsewhere on the web, make sure you know the seller in person to avoid being scammed. Also, any RSVP's on external platforms (Meetup/Facebook/...) are optional and not representative of current availability.
Value and booking
Price includes train tickets, beverage and friendly host. Discounts available for early birds, train pass holders (ÖBB-Klimaticket/Interrail), repeat participants and groups. In case of severely bad weather, this event will be cancelled and refunded.
